Blogger Q&A with Mili

There is just something about La fashion bloggers that always gets me falling head over heels. Maybe it's their effortless-looking outfits or their very unique way of pairing common pieces. Nevertheless, this post isn't about big names like Aimee or Rumi but about this gorgeous college student, Mili. Her fashion blog is just one of those that always leaves me craving for more and I'm quite sure it will have that same effect on you! So read on and get to know this self proclaimed TV addict and very stylish gal a little better.

1. How would you describe your style?
This is going to sound like an oxymoron, but I would describe it as girly tomboy. My daily style consists of dresses ands skirts, paired with more boy-ish elements such as caps and sneakers. I'm not very big on accessorizing, and more than 50% of my closet is black/ navy. Most importantly, comfort is the most important part of my look!

2. What is one item currently on your wishlist?
A darker pair of destroyed boyfriend jeans. I can't believe I haven't bought a pair til recently. I'm in love!

3. Favourite season:
Fall. You're basically allowed to wear anything your heart desires cause the weather jumps all over the place.

4. Something you will never be caught wearing:
Leather/ faux leather pants. Every time I see some street style girl looking oh so glam in a pair, I cave a little, but then I flashback to the Friends episode where Ross gets stuck in a bathroom unable to pull his leather pants back up. Thus the fear is reinstated and the vow to never put on a pair remains.

5. What are your favourite tv shows at the moment?
That's a tough call since I watch a lot of televion. The top 3 would be Arrested Development, Sherlock (even though it hasn't be on in for-e-ver), and the Mindy Project.

6. How do you manage juggling between blogging and college?
The beauty of college is that your schedule is incredibly flexible. You aren't stuck in a classroom strictly from 8-3, 5 days a week. I frequently carry my camera and laptop with me during the day so sometimes I'm able to blog in-between or after class. That being said, college is definitely my number one priority. While I love blogging and all things fashion related, it's not related to my future career goals. But that's my favorite thing about the blogging and fashion community, it's so accessible to all types of people and in varying degrees. You can enjoy it without centering your entire life around it, but on the other hand if it is your life's passion, the option is also available to you.

7. What are your summer must haves?
A pair of strappy + flat sandals, a loose babydoll dress, a straw hat, and a light wash denim shirt

8. A celebrity icon of yours:
Miranda Kerr

9. What are your favourite places to shop at?
H&M, Urban Outfitters, Zara, Asos, and the closets of my mom/dad/brother. There's a running "joke" in my family that if somebody can't find an article of clothing, my closet is the place to look.

10. Something you are looking forward to:
Moving into my first apartment. It's almost like I'm a grown up, emphasis on almost.

Audi fashion festival '13 | Peter Pilotto

I was a delight to witness first hand at Audi fashion festival '13 the Peter Pilotto's Fall Winter 2013 collection. Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos the design duo have made an enormous impact on the fashion industry, taking it by storm in the short 5 years of the brand. From winning the emerging talent award at the British Fashion Awards in December 2009, to also gathering a celebrity following including faces like Kate Bosworth, Rihanna and Sienna Miller. The brand, reputable for their endlessly appealing prints, has reinvented this in a interesting manner for their f/w '13 collection inspired by the work of artists of the Spanish Renaissance.

The pieces, especially at the start of the show, had a certain tough aspect to them. What started with a cropped scarlet red jacket, squared off with the exaggerated shoulders, complemented with some luxurious embroidery. Bold cuts enhanced the overall appeal of the looks also paired with the solid back and white combo and the brands signature print extravaganza.
The hardness of these pieces were balanced with the clever use and positioning of the different hues and patterns. Many of which created an illusion of a smaller waist with the use of a single print or colour right at the centre of the dress (like the first and last ensembles above). Reinvention of shapes also came in the form of striking structured shoulder and neck details, adding some femininity to the collection while still keeping a strong and powerful aesthetic.
Great focus to textures combined with their prints and structure was also very evident throughout the show. A perfect example of this are these four looks above. Starting off with the puffed jacket in the complex pattern of mixed hues. The long sleeved neutral dress in the precise neutral-toned pattern. Transitioning into the stand out pants, in cobalt blue, and sweater with a textured stitching pattern produced on it. Closing off  the sleeveless cocktail-like dress with the wavy print details done with minuscule embellishments giving it an effortless beauty.

What are your thoughts on this collections? What are your favourite looks?

May Wishlist | iPhone cases

20 iPhone cases

All links here

Being an new iPhone user has not only opened me up to a world of countless apps (not very helpful to my procrastination) but also to more phone accessories, including phone cases. They come in such a variety that you can always find something that fits your fancy as you can see from my picks above. For a starter, the prints and styles come in an infinite number of possibilities.

However, among these twenty you may have noticed quite a number of black & white coloured ones, any of which will most likely start my collection of iPhone cases. Allow me to explain- My style of clothing tends to sway to the prints and patterns but in minimal and neutral tones, like these, making these cases so me!

We also have to touch on the pricing, which thankfully does not always requires you to break the bank, which can sometimes be especially hard not to when you are on a student's budget.

Another thing that drives me to believe I will start collecting these (almost as a hobby) is how easy it is to switch your phone's look to match your mood or how you are feeling. As we know, many things can influence the way we dress, and so, why would that also not apply to the way we accessories our phones? Maybe one day it will be a vintage floral or a minimal two-toned printed case, we'll see...

Of these 20, which is your favourite?
