I don't think anyone can say that this is really a 'spring trend' as black and white never goes out of style. However this basic colour match has been part of numerous Spring 2013 collections. This is probably one of the most wearable trends out there as you can pull it off on a budget and it can be worn all year round and for nearly every occasion. Designers have taken this trend in many different directions. From fashion forward futuristic in Alexander Wang Spring '13 to the 60s inspired black and white stripes in the Marc Jacobs Spring '13 collection (as seen in my Spring Stripes post). So here are a few other designers who have put emphasis on sleek black and white pieces in their Spring '13 collections.Moschino
Moschino did do many wildly colourful pieces but to start off the show black and white bold pieces took centre stage. Black and white were on stripes, jackets, miniskirts, suits and bags which were paired with helmets, oversized sunglasses and demure white gloves for sleek, strong but also feminine looks.
Lace and leather dominated Wu's Spring '13 collection as well as fitted (and can I say a bit sexy? ) looks, which aren't very traditional to Wu's collections. With that said, head to toe black and white pieces couldn't be left out. These were very feminine, sophisticated and had perfect tailoring.
The BCBG collection really did show that you don't need to show much skin to be sexy. With black and white plus the right cut you can really pull it off. Black leather could also be found in the collection especially on harnesses which overlaid many flowing white dresses.

The Rachel Zoe collection screams wearable. There were a number of simple black and white pieces in the Spring collection, which included suits and chic blazers. Many which were paired with floppy hats, oversized bags and gold accessories.
I apologise for my lack of posts which were mostly due to me having to study for my finals but now I'm back :) and so be ready for many more fashion post. (Have to catch up on what has been going on in fashion week and all the new collections that have come out).
